THIRD DEGREE, TEMPORARY RELEASE AND PAROLE IN ALMERÍA
The defence does not end with the judgment. When a person goes to prison, their classification, release permits, third degree or parole depend on decisions of the Treatment Board, the General Secretariat of Penitentiary Institutions and the Prison Supervision Court. A good approach can bring release forward considerably.
At Castillo & Martín Abogados we assist inmates at the Almería Prison and other prisons in Spain, and we support their families throughout the sentence.
How we can help
- Initial classification and progression to third degree (open regime), including the flexible regime of article 100.2 of the Prison Regulations.
- Ordinary and extraordinary temporary release permits.
- Parole.
- Combination and calculation of sentences and credit for pre-trial detention.
- Appeals before the Prison Supervision Court and the Provincial Court.
- Disciplinary proceedings, complaints and prison transfers.
- Suspension and substitution of the sentence before entering prison.
How we work
- We prepare the file: employment, family ties, treatment programmes and reports supporting the application.
- We stay in touch with the family and explain every step and every deadline.
- We appeal every unjustified refusal: many are corrected on appeal.

Why a prison law lawyer
Many applications for release permits or third degree are refused due to lack of preparation: a report that is not submitted, family ties that are not proven or an appeal that is not filed in time.
We review the entire file, prepare each application and defend the inmate before the prison administration and the court.
